For the fifth time a Sources 2 Script Development Workshop will be realised with the support of our long-term partners MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
The upcoming workshop will take place from 15 – 23 April 2016 at Hotel Schönbuch in Pliezhausen, a small town located in the beautiful landscape around Tübingen.
Participants, mentors and guest lecturers will be nationals from seventeen countries: Argentina, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, France, Iran, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey, United Kingdom.
Fifteen feature film and creative documentary projects have been selected for participation. During the seven-day session writers, directors and producers will develop their feature film projects and receive professional training. Participants will work in three groups led by Eric Collins (France), Miguel Machalski (France/Argentina) and Arash T. Riahi (Austria/Iran). The workshop will be followed by a coached three-month re-writing period and a follow-up session.
The Film Festival Cine Latino and the University of Tübingen (Center for Media Competence, Institute of Media Studies, Romance Philology) will be our cooperation partners with regard to the workshop’s supplementary programme. Lectures, screenings and discussions will be open to local film professionals and students.

Paul Tyler – Creative Tools
The visionary developer, consultant and mentor from the United Kingdom will illuminate new approaches. Applying his concept Handling Ideas, Paul will work with each of the groups and provide creative tools and individual advice. Exclusively for the workshop participants.
Edgard Tenembaum – Travelling Stories
The French-Argentinian producer will speak about The relevance of our stories for an international audience and how to make them travel, based on his wide experience in feature film co-productions linking Europe with Latin America, Israel, Georgia and Japan.

Fernando Eimbcke – Sources of Inspiration
The internationally renowned Mexican writer/director will speak about his Sources of Inspiration, exploring the creative space and his individual approach to writing and developing processes. The lecture will be preceded by the screening of Fernando’s recent feature film Club Sándwich (2013, Silver Shell Best Director / IFF San Sebastian), and followed by a reception hosted by Creative Europe Desk Munich. This event will be part of Cine Latino's festival programme.

Michel Reilhac – Virtual Reality
The French thought-leader for hybrid forms of storytelling, pioneer in Virtual Reality filming and interactive story architect will introduce new paradigms and discuss the question: Is Virtual Reality a serious option for a filmmaker?

Marcus Vetter – True Fiction
The renowned German filmmaker will present his recent theatrical documentary
The Promise (2015) by Marcus Vetter & Karin Steinberger. In his following lecture Marcus will focus on the film’s feature film structure and the arising questions: Where are the limits when applying fictional dramaturgy to a documentary project? And, vice versa, to what extent can a feature film benefit from documentary structures? How relevant is structure when approaching your target audience?
True Fiction – The thin line between documentary and fiction.
A case study based on the true crime story The Promise.
