25 years with Sources 2

We had an exciting, enjoyable, challenging, and most rewarding time!

More than dreams came true: 185 films developed through our programme have been made to date; our workshops and events were held in 30 European countries with 2.500 alumni from 42 nations; 1.500 projects were developed and consulted; and scores of collaborative relationships and networks have been established.

We went through ups and downs, we brought all our power and energy, all our soul and ongoing enthusiasm into building Sources 2 to what it is today: A well-established brand for Script and Story Development and advanced training for film professionals with a recognition level in the European film industry that goes beyond mere training.

Now we are leaving at this very successful stage
having accomplished our mission, and being proud of our many achievements.

It was a pleasure to inspire all of the screenwriters, directors and producers that participated in our workshops, consultancy sessions and master classes all over Europe, and watch as they enhanced their skills and advanced the development of their film projects. Thousands of film professionals have been part of our network.

We witnessed countless careers developing over all these years – how many participants came as emerging filmmakers to work on their projects, and returned later in highly advanced professional positions, to benefit further from our mentors training.

We hosted numerous celebrated filmmakers to visit us in person to talk about their own sources of inspiration, as well as bringing in specialised top-class speakers to pass on their knowledge. What an honour to publish these lectures in our popular Sources 2 booklets. We are proud to have produced and circulated 35 editions worldwide.

We felt privileged to realise our workshops in the most beautiful and exotic places across Europe from the North Cape to the Mediterranean, and to collaborate with wonderful people who shared our passion.

We thank

our mentors, lecturers and team members for outstanding performance and for the hard work that helped to foster the high quality of our programmes. We are grateful for the continuous support and cooperation of our funders and partners who enabled us to offer our training and disseminate Sources 2’s expertise throughout Europe – above all, the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme, granting us support since 1992. We thank everyone who contributed to our success story in one way or another, especially those who collaborated for many years. We thank all previous and current members of our board of directors for their patronage. And, we give all praise and thanks to our tireless chairman, Rolf Orthel, who has been committed since the foundation of Stichting Sources almost thirty years ago.
