We are proud to announce our first Sources 2 Script Development Workshop in Luxembourg, realised with the support of Film Fund Luxembourg.
The workshop will be held at Hotel Ecluse in Stadtbredimus/Luxembourg, 30 March – 7 April 2017.
Participants, mentors and guest lecturers will be nationals from seventeen countries: Albania, Argentina, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, France, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Fifteen feature film and creative documentary projects have been selected for participation. During the seven-day session writers, directors and producers will develop their feature film projects and receive professional training. Participants will work in three groups led by Miguel Machalski (France/Argentina), Eric Collins (France) and Michael Seeber (Austria). The workshop will be followed by a coached three-month re-writing period and a follow-up session.

Paul Tyler – Creative Tools
The visionary developer, consultant and mentor from the United Kingdom will illuminate new approaches. Applying his concept Handling Ideas, Paul will work with each of the groups and provide creative tools and individual advice. Exclusively for participants.
Thomas Arslan – Sources of Inspiration
Our guest of honour, the German-Turkish writer/director will speak about his Sources of Inspiration, preceded by the screening of his recent feature film Bright Nights (Germany/Norway 2017) which had its world premiere in the competition of the 67th Berlinale Festival, starring Georg Friedrich who was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Actor. The event will be followed by a reception.

Virgil Widrich – Case Study
The Austrian writer/director will present his recent feature film Night of a 1.000 Hours, focusing on the intense script development process during a Sources 2 workshop, individual coaching by Sources 2 advisers Louise Gough and Miguel Machalski and the collaboration with screenwriting legend Jean-Claude Carrière. Virgil will also illuminate the innovative process of shooting the film in a house that was not built but rear projected on screens behind the actors. Virgil's presentation will be followed by a networking event with film professionals from the Greater Region (Luxembourg, Saarland, Lorraine, Rhineland-Palatinate, Wallonia), realised in cooperation with Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Luxembourg.

Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir – Creativity / Intuition
The greatest weapon of storytellers is not a ‘pink and fluffy’ feeling – the Icelandic consultant, filmmaker, creative entrepreneur and writer will enlighten the relevance of intuition in the world of storytelling. Hrund bases her work on a vision that is committed to a balance between creative and rational thinking, innovative and cross-sectoral approach to 21st century challenges.
