Sources 2 at FilmCamp 2015!

Special Guests: Margarethe von Trotta, Paul Tyler, Álvaro Vega, Ole Giæver

We are happy to announce our upcoming Script Development Workshop at FilmCamp in Norway. For the ninth time a Sources 2 workshop will be realised with the support and cooperation of our long-term partner FilmCamp AS, an internationally operating regional film fund and production centre in Northern Norway, offering a funding scheme, professional support and infrastructure for films shot in the region as well as educational activities. Additional support has been granted by the Norwegian Film Institute.

The session will take place from 11 – 19 June 2015. The venue will be FilmCamp where all participants, advisers and guests will be accommodated.

The workshop will gather participants, mentors and guests from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Fifteen feature film and creative documentary projects have been selected for participation.Writers, directors and producers will develop their projects and receive professional training, working in three groups led by Eric Collins (France), Gualberto Ferrari (France/Argentina) and Michael Seeber (Austria). The seven-day session will be followed by a coached three-month re-writing period and a follow-up session.

The supplementary programme will feature the following guests:

Paul Tyler – Creative Tools
The visionary developer, consultant and mentor from the United Kingdom will illuminate new approaches. Applying his concept Handling Ideas, Paul will work with each of the groups and provide creative tools and individual advice.

Margarethe von Trotta – Sources of Inspiration
Our guest of honour, the internationally renowned German writer/director will lecture about her Sources of Inspiration and her way to approach historic characters, such as Rosa Luxemburg, Hildegard von Bingen, Hannah Arendt. The lecture will be preceded by the screening of her film Hannah Arendt (2012), and followed by a cocktail offered by Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Norway.

Álvaro Vega – Distribution
The Spanish expert, founder and director of the company Doble Sentido, will hold a lecture focusing on Marketing & Publicity for Cinema – The Mentality to Promote. In addition, he will offer one-to-one meetings for interested participants.

Ole Giæver – Sources of Inspiration
The Norwegian writer/director will present his recent feature film Out Of Nature (2014) and speak about his inspiration arising from the power of nature on a physical and emotional level, a central force revealing the protagonist’s inner life, played by himself.
