Sources 2 Script Development Workshops

Sources 2 at FilmCamp 2017

Special Guests: Ildikó Enyedi, Vinca Wiedemann, Steye Hallema, Paul Tyler

After having celebrated the anniversary of our 10-year partnership with FilmCamp in Norway, we are more than happy to continue our fruitful collaboration: For the 11th time a Sources 2 Script Development Workshop will be realised with the support and cooperation of FilmCamp AS, an internationally operating regional Film Fund and production centre in Northern Norway, offering a funding scheme, professional support and infrastructure for films shot in the region as well as educational activities.

The session will take place from 8 – 16 June 2017. The venue will be FilmCamp where all participants, advisers and guests will be accommodated.

The workshop will gather participants, mentors and guests from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Ireland, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Fifteen feature film and creative documentary projects have been selected for participation. Writers, directors and producers will develop their projects and receive professional training, working in three groups led by Miguel Machalski (Spain/Argentina), Gualberto Ferrari (France/Argentina) and Arash T. Riahi (Austria/Iran). The seven-day session will be followed by a coached three-month re-writing period and a follow-up session.

The supplementary programme will feature the following guests:

Paul Tyler – Creative Tools
The visionary developer, consultant and mentor from the United Kingdom will illuminate new approaches. Applying his concept Handling Ideas, Paul will work with each of the groups and provide creative tools and individual advice.

Ildikó Enyedi – Sources of Inspiration
Our guest of honour, the internationally awarded Hungarian writer/director Ildikó Enyedi will speak about her Sources of Inspiration, preceded by her recent feature film On Body and Soul (Hungary 2017), this year’s Golden Bear winner at Berlinale. The event will be followed by a reception.

Vinca Wiedemann – Writing Process
The internationally renowned Danish screenwriter, story supervisor, consultant, editor, producer and currently Rector of the National Film School of Denmark, will illuminate the writing process, based on her broad experience: When writing, what happens beyond the writing itself? Vinca’s credits include Susanne Bier's In a Better World (Oscar winner) and Lars von Trier’s Melancholia and Nymphomaniac.

Steye Hallema – Virtual Reality
The Dutch composer and director, multimedia experienced story designer and Virtual Reality filmmaker will introduce a new form of storytelling when presenting the VR case study Ashes to Ashes.
