Sources 2 Script Development Workshops

Sources 2 at FilmCamp 2018

Special Guests: Agnès Godard, Lionel Vincent Baldenweg, Ludger Pfanz



We are proud to continue our fruitful 12-year collaboration and partnership with FilmCamp! Another Sources 2 Script Development Workshop will be realised with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA and FilmCamp AS, an internationally operating regional Film Fund and production centre in Northern Norway, offering a funding scheme, professional support and infrastructure for films shot in the region as well as educational activities.

The session will take place from 14 to 22 June 2018. The venue will be FilmCamp where all participants, advisers and guests will be accommodated.

The workshop will gather participants, mentors and guests from Argentina, Austria, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and US.

Fifteen feature film and creative documentary projects have been selected for participation. Writers, directors and producers will develop their projects and receive professional training, working in three groups led by Eric Collins (France), Karol Griffiths (United Kingdom/US) and Gualberto Ferrari (France/Argentina). The seven-day session will be followed by a coached three-month re-writing period and a follow-up session.

Guest adviser Paul Tyler will provide creative tools. The visionary developer, consultant and mentor from the United Kingdom will illuminate new approaches. Applying his concept Handling Ideas, Paul will work with each of the groups, providing creative tools and individual advice.

The supplementary programme is open to local film professionals and will feature the following guests:

Agnès Godard – Camera Works
The internationally awarded DOP will present a lecture titled Cinematography: One way among many. Agnès will speak about her work approach and vast experience when working with directors, such as Claire Denis, Agnès Varda, Wim Wenders, Peter Greenaway, Catherine Corsini, Ursula Meier, André Téchiné, Peter Handke, Claude Berry, Erick Zoncka, Sébastien Lifschitz a.o. During the lecture, a selection of film excerpts will be shown.

Lionel Vincent Baldenweg – Music / Film
The Swiss/Australian composer and musician will introduce a specific way of developing film music: Storytelling through film music – about the collaboration of writers, directors and composers. The Baldenweg siblings‘ aka Great Garbo’s approach to compose film music also incorporating the script development process proved to be highly successful: Diego, Nora and Lionel Vincent Baldenwegare a multi award winning composer team. The lecture will be followed by a reception hosted by Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Norway.

Ludger Pfanz – Future Narratives
The German filmmaker and digital pioneer will focus on Space-Time Narratives / The DNA of Storytelling – Film versus Immersive Media. How can we tell stories in space? How can we create story-worlds with an active and interacting audience? Immersive Media (3D, VR, Games and Mixed Reality) is able to effectively blur the line between reality and illusion, pushing the limits of our imagination and opening new fields for screenwriters and storytellers. Professor Ludger Pfanz is Head and Founder of Expanded Cinema 3Digital Laboratory, 3D Alliance Karlsruhe and the festival BEYOND.
